Division: Group Business Solutions (GBS)

As Group ESA Corporate Services Tribe Lead , you will be part of the GBS leadership team and you will lead all aspects of the IT function for the ESA Corporate Services – Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Audit, Legal, Compliance, HR, IT for IT, etc. You will partner with the senior business stakeholders (Division head level) leading Corporate services to shape and deliver their business strategy.

You will utilize expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and business requirements are met. These activities include the design and implementation of IT strategies, guidelines and procedures for IT Management including Lean process re-engineering, Agile software implementation, automation, and deployment of market standard solutions.

From an organisational standpoint, you will be continuing the department transformation into an Agile Tribe, defining, and implementing the Tribe structure according to the guidelines and adjusting it to the specificities of the areas in scope.

This Department is the result of the consolidation of two Teams, one for Corporate Support applications and one for ServiceNow. You will assess both teams’ structure, define and implement the Target Operating Model. You will define and design the best sourcing approach for Euroclear corporate services. You will run the selection process of outsourcing partners and implement the new operating model, ensuring continuity of service while improving efficiency and costs.

Role

  • Brings strategic direction, clarity of thought, a balanced view, business acumen and know-how over multiple, concurrent and diverse domains of expertise in corporate services. This role requires breadth and depth of business and technical knowledge, demonstrated by previous experience in similar roles for financial institutions, and the interpersonal skills to influence decisions at Division head level.
  • Manages the relationship with the corporate functions senior business leaders, the investment theme trio (in delegation from GBS’ Division head) and the IT divisions. Support corporate functions in shaping strategy/priorities and translate these into solutions that meet value and technical criteria. Run the service dialogue discussions with senior business leadership representing the view of the entire IT organisation.
  • Has accountability for the strategic direction and multi-year planning of all IT activities required to achieve the business goals agreed with the corporate function divisions and with IT (for IT) (ServiceNow). Takes a leading role in identifying the strategies required to support the long-term objectives of the stakeholders and ensure the sustainability of the services/solutions being offered. Use of creative thinking and significant judgment to take decisions with long term impacts.
  • Ensures that the design, selection / development, maintenance, and life-cycle management of corporate solutions meet all business and IT corporate requirements - architecture, security, resilience, etc.
  • Leads, motivates, and grows all squads in the tribe, continuously improving the performance and efficiency, technical competency, and soft skills of their members.
  • Mentors and supports the squads in the tribe to make sure goals and objectives are met in line with the divisional strategy and objectives.
  • Consolidates the agile defined in the IT TOM, defining and implement the optimal organisation for the consolidation of the different ServiceNow domain into the current corporate solution tribe.
  • Defines & implements the new sourcing model for the Tribe leveraging external partnership and Krakow location.
  • Participates actively in the management of the overall Group business solutions Division (GBS).

Technical skills

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in Information Technology or related disciplines.
  • At least 15 years of professional experience acquired in various disciplines within the IT function.
  • A minimum of 10 years in a leadership or managerial role of large teams across different geographies. Demonstrable experience of directly managing teams > 100 people is a must.
  • Previous experience in managing full Corporate Functions IT in financial institutions is a strong plus.
  • Expert in solutions delivery operating in agile.
  • Solid experience in running workforce management and continuous improvement.
  • Solid experience in working with outsourcing partners.
  • Experience in leading organisation transformation such as agile and sourcing model changes.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in handling IT transversal topics such as Programme Office, Budget, Contract and Vendor Management
  • Deep understanding of project management in an Agile environment.
  • Follow-up on risks and associated action plans.
  • Practical experience of both Waterfall and Agile Project Management principles, and delivering projects in a pragmatic approach.
