Belfius Asset Management (Belfius AM) is a subsidiary of Belfius Bank established in 2016. As an asset management company, we are responsible for 32 billion euros of assets. These are split between (in-house and outsourced) collective funds for €24bn (for 1 million clients of Belfius Bank), and portfolios of €8bn for 4,000 private and wealth clients.

Our teams have more than 70 employees (vs 27 in 2021), with 7 different nationalities, with three main areas of responsibility:

• Centralised investment decisions (“Belfius Convictions”) applying to all client assets of Belfius.
• Responsible investment policy for Belfius (ESG).
• Management of €30 billion of euros for over 1 million clients of Belfius, either through collective funds, or through personal mandates for private & wealth clients.

These €30bn of assets are a strong testimony of the trust received year after year from our clients. You will be joining the First Line Operations Team, that is part of the Transformation Team at Belfius AM. Our dynamic team consists of 4 people but is in full growth due to an expansion of our activity scope.

The main goals of the team are:

• To serve and support the different business units within Belfius AM in their operational tasks, help to gain efficiency by reducing their time spent on administrative and contractual tasks, in order to deliver the best service to our clients.
• Stakeholder management outside Belfius AM: make sure to implement a good relationship with our stakeholders at Belfius Bank (Private Banking, Settlement, IT departments etc…) to implement new and improve existing workflows.

There are 3 main axes within the team:

• Product Governance: creation of different types of instruments (Equities, Fixed Income, Funds…). Follow up of the different workflows of these instruments. Coordination of potential issues and/or follow-up on questions raised by all different teams involved at Belfius AM as well as at Belfius Bank. Awareness of ESG aspects.
• Middle Office activities: supporting the Private Portfolio Management desk in the set-up/ start of new mandates/contracts. This includes: the validation of new contracts and their set-ups in the systems, blocking and closing of these contracts, manage corporate actions for these clients etc…
• Production support: First Line Operations is the entry point/intermediary between Belfius AM and the Simcorp Dimension team at Belfius Bank. This means that the team coordinates set-ups, requests/complaints, trainings, testings etc… Other support functions that fall under the responsibility of the First Line team are license management, Bloomberg installation, tooling support towards our different stakeholders to guarantee an excellent service.

• You hold at least a bachelors degree, preferably in Finance/Economics or equivalent. Experience in the financial sector is required and knowledge of the asset management industry is a plus.
• Technical skills: You have an advanced knowledge of Excel and first experience in VBA.
• You are interested in the set-up of new, or improvement of existing tools to deliver excellent service to our different stakeholders.
• Experience with SimCorp Dimesion is a plus.
• Client oriented: you understand the importance of an excellent service to our clients, and you are aware of your contribution and responsibility to make this happen.
• Mindset: you are capable of analyzing the operational problems present in your day to day, and you take initiative to reflect on potential/structural solutions to solve them. You are eager to learn new things.
• Communication: you have a clear, open and structured way of communicating with other colleagues/teams. You are able to quickly build a network with different stakeholders.
• You are a team player.
• You work fluently in Dutch, French and English, oral and written.
